Born in Berlin, Germany he emigrated with his parents and brother to Canada in May 1957. He served in the Canadian armed forces as a medical assistant. After his discharge from the armed forces he worked in the health care field as an orderly and licensed practical nurse. In 1988 he did a water colour of a scene from a photo he had taken in Amsterdam Holland. He was pleased and excited and continued to draw and paint. As well as painting he has done works , creating assemblages from found materials and objects.
He enjoys art that is authentic and of personal and social significance.
